Dusted

The white stuff arrived in Nara this week. Unfortunately not the Colombian kind but the shitty disruptive frozen kind. The only thing to do was stop bitching, whack on the Karma's and an Ass Saver and go take some shots in the usual spots...

Snodai-ji.

Snow one around.

Snow more puns.

To see some much better photography and less miserable text from the last time there was snow in Nara then go check out Fixed in Nara's recent post

Sunday Ride To Kizu

Starting the morning right at Subrock Coffee.
A beautiful day in Nara yesterday and a chance to hook up with Pete and Brad for a ride out to Kizu...

Through the deserted  roads of Kizugawa.
Pete. Being Pete.
Farmland.
Kizugawa.
The destination was Euro Works La.Sista, a road and MTB shop (a full post from there will be up here later this week)...

Euro Works La.Sista.
And then out into the sunshine for the ride back to Nara...

Across the bridge.
Blue skies.
Crossing.
FiN in the SuN.
Homeward Bound.
A couple of outtakes from the day, sometimes it's not easy getting all these shots whilst being photobombed! Cheers, as always to Pete and Brad.

Send in the clowns...
...Don't bother, they're here.

Kansai CX, Kyoto

An early start last Sunday to head out to a snow covered Kyoto Cyclocross with Brad, Toshio and Pete. Toshio and Pete had entered into the C4 category races, Pete for the fist time, Toshio in his second ever cross race. First task was registration...

Then, as the sun came up we walked the course...

Once the sun was "up" and the test rides began the snow quickly gave way to thick mud making an already technical course that much harder...

The combination of snow, mud and grass was already taking it's toll on the bikes...

We were now all officially part of Team Bubba thanks to some Minnesota "Bubba" plates Pete had brought...

A lot of waiting around before the races started...

Some using the time to clean up their bikes before the races. This was the near constant queue for the hoses...

Toshio-san lined up for his race...

Bike and shoes fashionably colour coordinated in this season's hottest colour "mud brown"...

Then the action began...

And...

...They're...

...Off...

Naturally, the mud just got thicker and thicker...

Toshio-san was doing very well...

And seemingly enjoying himself too...

We tried a few different camera settings trying to get that perfect cyclocross photo. With varying degrees of success...

Brad was busy doing the same and shooting bikes...

Out on the course the mud was getting serious...

Then it was Pete's turn to race...

He was looking relaxed on the start line...

And having fun out on the course...

As were the team from Movement...

A few more "arty" photo attempts...

Pete was looking very fresh after the race...

Which is more than can be said for his mud caked bike...

Time to join the queue for those hoses...

A great day had all round. Thanks to Toshio-san. Pete and Brad. Next season team Bubba/KCDC will back stronger than ever! Any sponsors wanting to send us free shit get in touch at the usual address, we'll take anything and will happily race for cookies and beer!
