Taigo's Samson

A few more photos of Taigo's gorgeous Samson fixed gear track bike taken over at Heijo a few weeks back...

Nitto cockpit of course...

And Sugino taking care of the drive...

Let's not forget these photos were taken on the (very hot) day that Taigo and friends rode from Osaka to Nara and back over Mt Ikoma on some seriously steep, sketchy roads...

Respect Taigo, respect!

JYUKUS.FRIENDS BGM DVD

Vintage Hattori ProSight MTB

Well loved old Hattori ProSight MTB spotted in Nara last week...

A bit of Google research informs that Hattori was a BMX/cruiser company building bikes for the Australian market...

Certainly seen better days but it's definitely kept a bit of old klunker charm...

Still rocking the original Suntour AG rear mech...

And Sugino Maxy Cross cranks...

Dia Compe levers and a Suntour thumbie..

Grand Bois Kyoto

All the pictures from last weekend's trip to the brilliant Grand Bois store in Kyoto...

The shop is famous for their traditional Japanese built touring bicycles and restoration work on brands including Rene Herse, Toei and Alps...

Sitting outside the shop was this stunning porteur bike...

Inside, the well organised shop is absolutely packed with beautiful bikes...

Details, such beautiful details...

Especially on this Iribe built, full Dura Ace tourer...

The ceiling is also crammed with vintage porteurs, tourers and randonneurs...

The neatly arranged shelves show off some Grand Bois own brand parts...

Including their famous tyres...

A wonderful, friendly shop selling some very beautiful bicycles. You can follow Grand Bois via their Facebook and Twitter pages.
