Bicycles Takenaka, Kyoto

A visit to the wonderful Bicycles Takenaka in Kyoto last weekend...

The bright, well stocked shop sells a range of road, triathlon, cyclocross and city bikes with brands including Pinarello, Raleigh, Araya, Panasonic and Calamita...

There's a good range of accessories and parts...

At at the rear of the store is a beautiful display of some very vintage bikes including a gorgeous "1950's" Makino track bike...

A "1970's" Gios Torino...

And a stunning "1960's" Makino road bike...

Vintage Pinarello Restoration

Over in Germany, Benny, a friend of our good buddy Adam has just completed a very classy restoration project on a rather special Pinarello...

The bike belongs to the wife of one of the Pinarello family who asked Benny to get the bike back up and running after it had been sitting unused for sometime. Benny did an amazing job...

The details are stunning, those lugs, that stem and all that polishing...

The chain guard is a work of art too...
