Guell To-kae Ride

A brief midweek ride with the Guell Crew to take in some of the lights of To-kae...

Speeding through town.

A stop at the Surusawa pond, wonderfully lit up and offering great views of Kofuku-ji...

...And then back through town heading for the Apa Apa cafe for Big Toepfer's sayonara party. Yep, sadly the Cajun Gaijin is leaving the land of the rising sun and heading back home at the end of this month, we're gonna miss ya big fella!

There are much better photos and the full story from the night over on the Guell blog.

Weekly Photos

As we may have mentioned before, it is hot here. Really hot. The temperature is nearing 40c degrees each day. The only decent time to ride is late afternoon and evening...

Hiding from a punishing sun at Heijo palace,
An evening ride around Nara koen.
Shading in Kyoto.
Sunsets at Heijo palace.
That blazing, blistering sun.
Also in Nara at this time of year we have Nara To-kae, each evening the whole town is lit up by thousands of candles and lanterns...

And finally, the shika shot...
