Saturday Spin

About time we posted a bit of local flavour so this afternoon we hooked up with F-i-N for a coffee and a late afternoon spin around town. There is certainly a hint of spring in the air and the plum blossom is just starting to show in the park...

Fuji x blossom.
We stopped into the wonderful Bicycle Maru to check out what's new...

Salsa at Bicycle Maru.
Where they have a beautiful Cicli Katsuo MTB...

F-i-N got a chance to see what a fat tyre bike can do...

F-i-N goes FAT!
Up in the park taking photos. Sometimes the deer just know how to make a perfect shot...

Shika x Nagasawa.
And sometimes they make you work for it...

Cheers as always to F-i-N and a big thank you to Bicycle Maru. You can get regular update from the Bicycle Maru store by following their Instagram and Facebook pages.

Vintage Vigore MTB

Spotted in the bike parking at the local mall in Nara last week, this well loved, vintage Vigore MTB...

That paint job...

And the parts, oh man the parts. For younger readers this bike would have been a near top end MTB dating from the early 1990's. For older readers, 7spd XT thumbies...

With DX mechs front and rear, bonus points for the XT Shark Fin on the chainstays...

The cranks are Sugino XP with Suntour Power Rings and Shimano XT Pedals...

Such a Kansai bike, Kyoto builder plus Shimano, Sugino, Suntour and Araya.

KNSCX Final Round, Kyoto

Out in Kyoto yesterday for the final race of the Kansai Cyclocross season. Arriving on site just in time to catch our very good friend Toshio-san taking a few test laps...

By the time the races started the course was a mud bath, we've had a few days of heavy rain in west Japan, thankfully the sun was out yesterday...

There will be mud...

Fan's favourite Dave Hama...

Did we mention the mud?..

Team Guell member Yusuke-san was managing to ride through it...

As was the mighty Toshio-san...

Well, some of it...

Mud, glorious mud...

Fun and games at the barriers...

Back in the pits the usual local cycling brands were doing their thing...

Cachalot
Toyo frame
Tokyo San-Esu
A very big thank you to Mike, Yuka, Toshio, Brad and the whole KNSCX crew. Naturally we'll be posting lots more photos from the day and the rest of the season up here in the coming weeks and months.
